So I've had an amazing time the past couple of weeks. All in the name of 30 Seconds to Mars. It's official. I'm a fan for life.
(not my photo. I stood a liittle to the left of Tim at the bottom of the picture)
Went to Hamburg to see them play in front of a small audience of 1200 people. Bloody Freaking Amazing! It's the best concert of my life. I was up in the middle of the crowd, everyone was very into the music and the band performed brilliantly. wow. The highlight of the night was this moment (http://youtube.com/watch?v=F4rMF9cm80Y )
when they played Fallen. Couldn't believe it. Now there is only four songs I haven't heard live of their two albums. Capricorn, Welcome to the the universe, 93 mill miles and Year Zero. I'm sure I'll get a chance at hear the first one at some point. The three others? Not so much :(
I was a little nervours traveling to Germany alone but it as it happened I didn't feel alone at all. I met some lovely people at this concert that I hope i'll see again at some point. I'm pretty sure I will.
Five days later I saw the band again at GIVE IT A NAME festival in London. A totally different experience. 10 thousand people and far from all were fans of the band. My friend had foolishly bought a pair of new high heels to wear to the concert so we ended up
watching the concert from the back of the room with her sitting on the floor resting her sore feet. Still the band put on an amazing show so it was all good and I could just stand there and enjoy the music. My video of From Yesterday -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnMus4FP 0N8
A funny thing happened in London. We met Jared and Shannon's mom on the tube. We were heading to Earls Court to pick up our tickets and sat down opposite two ladies on the train. One of them pointed at my black 30STM wristband and said something to her friend but all I could hear was 30 Seconds to Mars. I looked at her questioningly cause I was surprised two ladies who looked to be in their 60's knew of the band.
Hear's what I remember of the conversation;
the mom; "We are going to see them tomorrow"
The friend; "no, tonight..isn't it?"
the mom; "yes you're right...tonight"
Me; "I hope it's tonight. I don't think they play tomorrow"
They agreed
Me; "You came all the way from the US to see them?"
The Mom; "Yes we did............my two boys play in the band"
*blink*
Thinking 'did she really say what I think she just said? Looks the mom deep in the eyes to determen if she is serious and discovers she has beautiful blue eyes like her youngest son.
Me; "oh"
Leans forward so she can hear me over the train noice she leans forward as well.
Me; "I love how they make people travel from all over the world to see them. It's very cool"
The mom; "yes it is"
It's our stop and we say goodbyes and wish them a nice evening.
I didn't realize that they were getting off at the same stop until I was through the collecting tolls and realized when waiting for my friend that The Mom was standing next to me waiting for her friend as well.
Here is when I went into fangirl mode *smacks head*
Me; "You have to say hi from me...... they are very talented....I love them"
The mom; "I will...Thank you"
And brilliant me says; "I don't know what else to say"
and almost runs away when me friend arrives.
It almost hurts to think about that conversation and all the things I could or should have said instead but I'm glad I at least was able to talk to the women and didn't just stand there gaping at her..hehhe. She seemed very very nice and down to earth.

When I got home I checked the one picture I had seen of her with Jared to make sure it really was her and it really was :)

I'm glad to hear you had an awesome time. Are you coming to Helsinki? ;) I'm so excited that we finally get our own gig!
I would have loved to come to Helsinki. It's not as expensive as I would have thought but the bloody concert is sold out and I don't think I'm able to get the days off work anyway :(
I can't wait to hear all about it though.
And I can't wait to tell everyone all about it! ;) Less than a month now...
Do you know the arena? How bad are the bad seats that are left?
Yes, I know the venue, I've been there many times. I don't know about the seats though... I don't know what they have left now.
I feel like walking around with that wristband on all the time now cause you never know who you might meet :)
